We offer classes for our 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Students that focus on knowing Jesus, growing in their relationship with Him, the power of the Holy Spirit, as well as learning more about their Catholic Faith. We use small Discipleship Groups for this age group.
Preparing for Confirmation is an important part of a teen’s Faith Formation so we require a two-year program. Confirmation Prep 1 classes are for those students in 8th grade or older and Confirmation 2 students must be in at least 9th grade. Since parents are so important in the life of their children, there are several evenings that parents are asked to attend with their child, even if they choose the Homeschooling option explained below. Another very important component of this program is an overnight retreat that our second-year Confirmation students will attend.
A different choice for all families in grades 1-9, is a homeschooling program called A Family of Faith. We will pair this program with the discussion-based programs that we use in class. This gives parents a chance to pass on their Catholic Faith to their children using a very clear and interactive series based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This is not an online program and does require the parents to lead the lessons, but can be done for your entire family using one parent book. Remember parents and students are still asked to join us for parent class nights that are explained above.
For more information contact Jackie Rosalez. Classes are held during the school year and usually begin in September and end in late April. You must be in at least 8th grade to register for Confirmation 1 and must have completed Confirmation 1(or similar if moving from another parish) in order to register for Confirmation 2.
